World's Largest Single-capacity Tower-type Photovoltaic Power Project Begins Construction

Qinghai Delingha Light Storage and Thermal Integration 2 Million Kilowatt Project is located in Delingha City, Haixi State, Qinghai Province, PV Industrial Park, with a planning area of about 53,000 acres, with a total installed capacity of 2 million kilowatts, configured with photovoltaic 1.6 million kilowatts, 400,000 kilowatts of photo-thermal storage and annual feed-in tariffs of up to 3.65 billion degrees after commissioning. Among them, the first phase of the tower-type photothermal 200,000 kilowatts project led by the Northwest Institute of China Electric Construction led EPC general contracting, is the world's largest tower-type photothermal power generation project in the construction of stand-alone capacity.
The whole project adopts the renewable energy power generation technology combining photovoltaic power generation and photothermal energy storage, effectively absorbing photovoltaic power abandonment through the photothermal energy storage generator set and electric heating device, combining photovoltaic and photothermal power characteristics to form an integrated multi-energy complementary power generation project. After the completion and commissioning of the project, the annual net power can reach 3.65 billion degrees, which will realise the scientific and technological innovation and demonstration application of PV, photothermal and energy storage synergistic power generation technology.
After the completion of the first phase of the tower-type photothermal 200,000 kilowatts project, it will become the first new energy demonstration project in Hercynian region with thermal storage-type photothermal power plant as the peaking power source, which will help the construction of the national clean energy industry highland in Qinghai Province and contribute to the national "double-carbon" goal.

Compared with the photovoltaic power generation project, the solar thermal power generation project can be converted into heat energy by absorbing sunlight, and then through the generator set will be converted into electricity, both peak power supply and energy storage dual function, can be continuous, stable output, to achieve 24 hours uninterrupted power supply.
