Argentina Launches Tender For 400MW Micro Renewable Energy Project

The Argentine government has recently launched a “micro-tendering” campaign for a renewable energy project with a total capacity of 400 megawatts.
The tender is the fourth round of the RenovAr program for large renewable energy projects.
Argentina Energy and Mining has set a cap for solar and wind: $60/MWh. The maximum financial income of various types of energy has also been determined: wind energy of 630,000 US dollars / megawatt, photovoltaics 382,500 US dollars / megawatt, biomass 1.12 million US dollars / megawatt, biogas 2. 2 million US dollars / megawatt, biogas landfill 58.5 Ten thousand dollars / megawatt, small hydropower 126,000 US dollars / megawatt.
At the same time, in order to facilitate the calculation of the expenditures necessary for the efficiency of each project in the implementation process, the Ministry of Energy and Mines also determined the “reference value of each technology investment”: wind energy 1.4 million US dollars / MW, solar energy 85 10,000 US dollars / megawatt, biomass 2.5 million US dollars / megawatt, biogas 4.5 million US dollars / megawatt, biogas landfill 1.3 million US dollars / megawatt, small hydropower 2.8 million US dollars / megawatt.
RenovAr under the first three rounds of the auction, 1.7 GW of solar projects were approved. In the third round of auctions, the lowest price for solar energy was $40.4/MW, while the highest and average prices were $52.3/MW and $43.5/MW, respectively.
