In 2018, the global photovoltaic installed capacity was 495 GW and the power generation was 592TWh, accounting for 2.2% of the global total power generation.
——If the current policies of various countries are continued (CPS scenario), the global photovoltaic installed capacity will reach 2,465 GW in 2040, and the power generation will reach 3,658 TWh, accounting for 8.5% of the global power generation.
——If all countries fully implement the Paris climate agreement commitments (SPS scenario), then the global photovoltaic installed capacity in 2040 will reach 3,142 GW, and the power generation will reach 4,705 TWh, accounting for 11.4% of the global power generation.
——If according to the requirements of the global sustainable development goals (SDS scenario), the global photovoltaic installed capacity should reach 4,815 GW in 2040, and the power generation will reach 7,208 TWh, accounting for 18.6% of the global power generation.
