1.French company installs 10 wind photovoltaic generators on commercial building roofs
Segula Technologies and Wind my Roof recently installed 10 wind-solar hybrid generators on the roof of a commercial building. Each system is equipped with a 1,500 W wind turbine and two 800 W solar modules. The smart energy storage system will support a mini-grid in the building.

2.First Solar meets profit target, but operating income misses expectations
First Solar Inc. reported its Q3 2023 earnings, with revenue coming in below expectations but beating EPS estimates. The CdTe thin-film solar module maker reported revenues of $801 million, missing estimates of $892 million. The company posted earnings per share of $2.50, beating estimates by 22.5%.
3.South Africa holds tender to redefine renewable energy bidding process
The South African government-owned Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) is inviting applications from transaction advisors to review the "cost-effectiveness and efficiency" of the country's decade-old Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement (REIPPP) program, which handles large-scale renewable energy projects. The tender also asked consultants to recommend a new model. The winning bidder's job includes submitting a report on the current REIPPP model and an implementation plan for viable alternatives.
