The Ministry of Energy and Mining of Republika Srpska BiH has signed a concession agreement for the construction and operation of two solar power plants in Nevesinje.

Minister of Energy and Mining Petar Đokić signed the concession contracts for the construction and operation of two solar power plants with Mirko Karac and Milisav Durasović, the heads of M Solar and MDD Energy, respectively. Both projects are located on the territory of the municipality of Nevesinje and are expected to have a rated capacity of 30 MW each.

The projects are worth €22.5 million each. According to the ministry, each project will generate 45 GWh of electricity per year.

Both companies are headquartered in Nevesinje, and the ministry said that the PV plants will be completed within five years. The concession period is 50 years.

Municipality of Nevesinje is entitled to 95% of the royalties

Prior to the signing of the agreement, the concessionaire made a one-time payment of €670,000 per project to the Republika Srpska. The royalty is 0.28 cents per kWh. Municipalities are entitled to 95% of the total amount.

It should also be noted that the ministry held hearings for the concession of two projects in late September.

One of them is a 100 MW photovoltaic project in Bjelosavljevići, Sokolac. The Austrian subsidiary of Germany-based Profine Group launched the program earlier. The other project is an 80 MW project in Srednji Dubovik in Krupa na Uni, called Dubovik.

The Bjelosavljevići PV plant is expected to produce 142 GWh per year, and the Dubovik plant is expected to produce 100 GWh per year.

There are many benefits of using solar panels. First of all, it is a clean and efficient source of energy because it does not require any fuel and does not produce harmful emissions like other traditional sources of energy.

In addition, the installation of a single photovoltaic panel can provide continuous power over a long period of time, which can save homeowners and businesses money on their electricity bills. This technology is also valuable for remote areas that do not have access to conventional electricity or for disaster-stricken areas where the power supply has been interrupted.

In short, solar energy is a promising solution for meeting the world's energy needs. As the technology develops, the use of photovoltaic panels will become more affordable and widespread, helping to create a more sustainable future. Solar energy is an excellent choice for a clean, renewable and abundant energy future.
