Pure POE film is the king of photovoltaic module packaging. Compared with EVA or co-extruded POE, pure POE has four advantages:

1. Lower glass transition temperature;

2. Lower water vapor transmission rate;

3. Better electrical insulation performance;

4. Better chemical stability;

These are the essential characteristics of the material, but they can be realized by relying on the formula, and it fully conforms to the current development trend of the photovoltaic industry mainly based on the crystalline silicon technology route: silicon wafer thinning, multi-layer absorption (passivation), open voltage Improve and reduce silver consumption.

Of course, the characteristics of POE also bring disadvantages, which are embodied in three aspects: slow cross-linking reaction rate, easy precipitation of functional additives and low light transmittance. This also makes process and production efficiency issues always present when pure POE is used in the component manufacturing process.

POE molecules are non-polar, and almost all functional additives in photovoltaic films are polar substances, which makes the absorption of additives much slower than that of EVA. In addition to the effect of diffusion, traditional pure POE films are used in glass. Or when placing the battery, due to the precipitation of additives, the battery or glass will relatively slip on the pure POE film.

In recent years, with the decrease of creepage distance of glass, the increase of the number of welding strips, the decrease of glass embossing depth and the acceleration of production line tact, the space to tolerate POE slip is getting smaller and smaller.
