When designing a PV system, a survey is carried out at the planned site to determine the installation method and location, measure the dimensions of the installation site and determine the orientation azimuth and tilt angle of the array. The installation site must not be shaded by buildings or trees, etc.
If this is unavoidable, it must be ensured that the photovoltaic array receives sunlight from 9am to 16pm. The spacing between the photovoltaic arrays and the arrays should be determined in strict accordance with the design requirements to ensure that the front row of arrays is not shaded by the back row of arrays.
According to the industry specification, in the northern region of China, the design principle is that there is no shading before 15:00 pm on the day of the winter solstice; in the southern region, the design principle is that there is no shading before 16:00 pm on the day of the winter solstice.
