According to GPE, 45,980 solar panels have been installed at the project and a solar tracking system has been used to maximise the use of solar photovoltaic (PV) energy to generate electricity.

It is understood that the project will be able to generate up to 25 megawatt hours of electricity per year and that it is being implemented under a build-operate-own (BOO) system.

According to reports, the Party Dagon project is the second major solar power project completed in the country by GPE's parent company Gold Energy. The electricity generated can be transmitted and distributed to the national power system via a 33KV aerial transmission line with the 132KV Party Dagon Power Station.

This follows a tender held in October last year (2022) for the Dasi solar project won by Gold Energy Myanmar, a member of the Asia World Group of companies, which was also awarded the right to work on the Dojek (2) hydroelectric project.

The right to operate the solar project at the invitation of the State will entitle it to up to 20 years from the start of commercial operations, with the State purchasing the electricity at a fair standard price.
