609MW Signed! Germany's Latest Solar Tender

The German Federal Network Agency has announced the results of its latest major ground-mounted PV tender. The tender had a capacity of 890MW and received 677MW of applications, of which only 609MW were approved.

Bavaria took the lion's share of the projects. 60 projects were signed up with a capacity of 307 MW. most of the winning bids (310 MW) were for arable or pasture projects, 239 MW of which went to Bavaria.
Commenting on the tender, BSW said that the government's tariff brake, which would cap consumer tariffs by robbing suppliers of their profits, would discourage investment in solar power plants. The policy will come into effect next year. From September 2022, Germany taxes profits retroactively.
A similar scheme was recently introduced in the Netherlands, which has sparked concern among industry commentators. They believe that an excessive solar tax could hinder the growth of the industry.
The success of Germany's energy transition is threatened by these cost issues, the BSW said in public comments today. the BSW called on the Bundestag to consider the issue of price increases for solar projects.
