Trina Solar's 210+N modules set another world record
Sep 14, 2022
Changzhou, China, August 24, 2022 - Trina Solar's State Key Laboratory of Photovoltaic Science and Technology announced that its self-developed Vertex Supreme high-efficiency N-type monocrystalline silicon modules, based on 66 210 mm x 210 mm high-efficiency N-type i-TOPCon cells, have been certified by the authoritative third-party T?V North Germany test, and the module window efficiencies have all reached 24.24%, setting a new world record for large-area This set a new world record for the window efficiency of industrialized N-type monocrystalline silicon i-TOPCon modules.
On March 10 this year, Trina Solar took the lead in achieving an efficiency of 25.5% for i-TOPCon cells on a 210 mm x 210 mm large-area N-type substrate, setting a new world record for large-area industrialized N-type monocrystalline silicon i-TOPCon cell efficiency.
This time, researchers at the State Key Laboratory of Photovoltaic Science and Technology, using self-developed large-area 210mm N-type i-TOPCon solar cells, have overcome the new multi-main gate (MBB) and high-density packaging technology, and developed the multi-splitting to reduce series loss technology, achieving a window conversion efficiency of 24.24% on a large-area PV module with a window area of 2.807 m2.
"We are very pleased to announce the latest achievement of our R&D team at the State Key Laboratory of Photovoltaic Science and Technology, which is the first industry demonstration that the window efficiency of large-area industrialized high-efficiency N-type monocrystalline silicon i-TOPCon modules exceeds 24%", said Dr. Yifeng Chen, Head of Trina Solar's Technology Engineering Center. "This is the 25th world record set by Trina Solar in the field of technology. Trina's technology team is committed to technological innovation and industrialization of technological achievements to lead the industry and create value for our customers."
Since being the first to achieve mass production of N-type modules in 2018, Trina Solar's high-efficiency and high-power N-type modules have been widely recognized by the market and used in scenarios such as power plants and distributed. By 2022, Trina Solar's N-type i-Topcon modules will have a production capacity of 8GW, which is based on the advanced 210 technology platform, with N-type cell technology and highly reliable module design, bringing higher power generation, safety and reliability to customers around the world, while bringing the ultimate green technology to home users. The series is based on the advanced 210 technology platform, stacked with N-cell technology and reliable energy module design.
