Radiant cooling of photovoltaic modules - challenges and prospects
Apr 26, 2022
An international research group recently published a paper on the potential use of radiative cooling in photovoltaic systems, focusing on the challenges and opportunities of passive cooling technology.

The researchers identified all effective radiative cooling strategies for photovoltaic cooling, emphasizing the importance of coolers in reducing the operating temperature of solar cells without compromising their overall efficiency. It also said, "The application of radiative cooling technology to solar panels is still in the research stage and will take some time to reach commercial maturity."
Members of the research team are from Shanghai Jiaotong University in China, Purdue University in the United States, the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, the Institute of Materials Science in Spain, Jordan University of Science and Technology, and Kuwait College in Australia.
