Nanjing University of Technology: Chimney Power Generation System Combining Photovoltaic Photothermal Technology
Jun 15, 2022
Recently, Nanjing University of Technology released a new invention "a solar chimney power generation system combined with solar photovoltaic photothermal technology".

Aiming at the problem of small power generation of traditional solar chimneys, the present invention proposes an active energy system combining photovoltaic, wind power and solar chimneys, which can realize 24-hour uninterrupted power supply and maximize the use of solar energy.
The specification points out that the chimney is distributed perpendicular to the ground, so the vertical space brought by the height of the chimney can be fully utilized to obtain the maximum utilization of light on the facade; multiple solar photovoltaic modules are installed on the facade of the chimney to absorb solar radiation and generate electricity.

In addition, the manual introduces that a heat collecting through hole can be opened in the center of the heat collecting shed, the lower end of the chimney is installed on the heat collecting through hole, the chimney is connected to the heat collecting through hole, and the heat collecting shed is located above the heat absorption layer. The heat collecting shed is used to absorb the radiation of the sun, increase the temperature of the air below itself, transfer the radiation energy of the sun to the heat sink, and drive the air flow in the chimney; the heat sink is used to store heat and dissipate its own heat at night. It is released to increase the temperature of the air above itself and the temperature of the heat collection shed, driving the air flow in the chimney, thereby driving the wind motor to generate electricity.
According to the specification, the present invention overcomes some disadvantages of the traditional solar chimney, such as low power generation in heating season, low power generation efficiency, and difficulty in running power generation in non-heating season, realizes full utilization of electric energy, and achieves the purpose of saving energy.
