Hydrogen-based power-to-gas-to-power (P2G2P) design of solar-wind energy microgrids

Scientists at Mexico's National Institute of Electricity and Clean Energy recently conducted a techno-economic feasibility study to assess the feasibility of integrating hydrogen-based power-to-gas-to-power (P2G2P) designs into rural microgrids.
The solution could be competitive if the cost of electrolyzers, fuel cells and hydrogen tanks were halved, or if diesel prices continued to rise, the researchers said. They also say that the design of the system "can be replicated in different regions of Mexico and other latitudes."
