Zhao Dewei's team set a record for the efficiency of large-area perovskite solar cells

A few days ago, the team of Professor Zhao Dewei from the Institute of Solar Materials and Devices of Sichuan University (hereinafter referred to as the Institute of Solar Energy of Sichuan University) has made a breakthrough in the 1cm2 area perovskite/perovskite (all perovskite) tandem solar cell. Certified by the Safety and Environmental Technology Laboratory (JET), the photoelectric conversion efficiency of an all-perovskite tandem solar cell with a limited irradiation area of 1.044cm2 reaches 26.4%, which is the current record for this type of solar cell in China.

This efficiency has been included in the 2021 CPVS Best Research-Cell Efficiencies list, which will be officially released at the opening ceremony of the 19th China Photovoltaic Academic Conference on April 21, 2022 (as shown below).

CPVS Best Research-Cell Efficiencies are compiled annually by the Photovoltaic Professional Committee of the China Renewable Energy Society and published in the annual "China Photovoltaic Technology Development Report". The test results provided by the Institute of Solar Energy Systems (Fraunhofer-ISE), the Institute for Solar Energy Hameln (ISFH) in Germany, the Japan Electrical Safety and Environmental Technology Laboratory (JET), etc., and the Martin Green efficiency that includes the world's highest photovoltaic level The identification standard of the table is consistent, and it is the most authoritative solar cell efficiency data in China. The result of Prof. Dewei Zhao's team from the Institute of Solar Energy is the first time that the efficiency of Sichuan University's solar cells has been included in CPVS Best Research-Cell Efficiencies.

Sichuan University of Solar Energy is committed to the cutting-edge research and application development of high-efficiency photovoltaic materials and devices, and has completed the research and development of cadmium telluride thin-film solar cells from small-area devices to large-area modules manufacturing technology, and has repeatedly set domestic efficiency records for cadmium telluride cells.
