India Expects Rooftop Solar Capacity To Increase By 1.5GW In 2018

Recently, according to the latest report from consulting firm Bridge to India, India added a record 1,538 MW of rooftop solar capacity in the 12 months to September 2018, an increase of 75%.

In recent years, analysts have been pessimistic about this, 'India solar roof map' shows that as of the end of September this year, the cumulative installation reached 3,399 MW, is expected to reach 15.3GW by March 2022. This is far lower than the original 40GW target, but stronger than before.

As usual, the commercial and industrial (C&I) division has a 70% market share this year, with only 9% of homes.

According to a report from Bridge to India, India is expected to be only in fiscal year 2018/19. The deployment of the 4.1 GW solar project was down 55% year-on-year, about a quarter of the government's 16 GW annual target.
