Australia's Midday Wind Power And Photovoltaic Power Generation Reached 9GW For The First Time, Accounting For 40%

The past weekend, in Australia is the first day of summer. According to the OpenNem data source provided by Dylan McConnell of the Melbourne Institute of Climate and Energy, Australia’s large-scale wind, large-scale solar and rooftop solar power generation reached 9 GW for the first time at noon on Saturday, December 1, when the share of the Australian national electricity market reached 39.7%.

In Victoria, renewable energy generation also reached a milestone: 50% of renewable energy output during the weekend. Renewable energy generation accounted for about 40% of total electricity generation at the time, because lignite power plants continued to generate electricity at full capacity, and excess electricity was exported to other states.
