On  the 10th White House press conference jointly co-chaired by Norway's  Prime Minister Solberg, U.S. President Trump said that the United States  may return to the global "Paris Agreement" to deal with climate change  on the condition that it must be resumed according to the will of the  United States Fair agreement.

Trump  said he has no objection to the climate agreement itself. Quitting the  "Paris Accord" because it is not fair to the United States, punishing  the United States severely and hurting U.S. commerce is a "very bad  agreement." Although he and his officials are deeply aware of the importance of  environmental issues, the U.S. business community needs to be  competitive.

Trump  said the United States is likely to return to the Paris agreement, but  "it will indeed deprive us of our competitive edge and we will not allow  such a thing to happen." Trump said earlier that the agreement will cost the United States 3 billion U.S. dollars and lose 65 million jobs.

Trump's  latest position does not differ materially from the announcement in  June last year that he would withdraw from the Paris Agreement. At  that time, he said that the United States could renegotiate to reach a  "fairer" climate agreement, but it did not matter whether a new  agreement was reached. Trump has called climate change a scam. His position on the climate issue has drawn widespread criticism from  the international community. His proposal to renegotiate the Paris  Agreement has been rejected by Germany, France, Italy and other  countries.

The  Paris Agreement was reached in 2015 and entered into force in November  2016. It is the second legally binding climate agreement under the  United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change following the  Kyoto Protocol to provide for the global response to climate change  after 2020 Make arrangements.

Sue  Biniaz, a former U.S. law advisor on climate, said he did not think the  Paris agreement needed to be amended or renegotiated, although there  was no legal reason why it could not be amended.
